As mentioned in a previous post, layering is something you may want to consider this fall.

Why? Since the weather is so unpredictable around this time of the year, you should always be prepared for any situation. So, layering is your best option. Now, if you don’t believe us, just ask our home boy Alex.

Before we get to his outfit, he had this to say about the art of layering,  “Layering with less conventional pieces expands my closet and allows me to go from work, to happy hour, to the function and beyond in one look.”

In regards to layering, versatility is the key here people. For example, Alex has utilized his current knowledge of layering by putting together this transitional outfit. His look includes a dark grey wool blazer, red hoodie, and a checkered button-up.

According to Alex, “This is easily one of my most comfortable outfits.  The hoodie is super soft and the blazer is unstructured so it falls on my shoulders, so I wouldn’t hesitate to wear it wherever.”

To finish off his look, Alex chose to go with trendy style joggers.  Remember, joggers are very multifaceted. They can be worn to the office, during cocktail hour, or just a night out on the town.

So how do you like Alex’s sleek-casual look?

Poncho: T.J. Maxx | Shoes: Saks Fifth Avenue |
Watch: Nordstrom | Ring: David Yurman

Today is the first day of autumn! If you haven’t done so already, bring in the season with some of your fashion favorites including fall layering, boots, sweaters, and cardigans *throws hands in victory*.

For this week’s individual style feature, we had an opportunity to link up with our new friend Antonia.  With a newly purchased wardrobe, Antonia decided to show off one of her latest fall looks.

Since this season is all about layering, Antonia decided to pair together her newly purchased blouse with a cream colored poncho, purchased from T.J. Maxx. Ladies, ponchos are all the wave this season. If you don’t have one, head over to your local mall before they sell out.

To finish off her look, she chose her favorite pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, and styled them with Valentino heels. Antonia had this to say about her boyfriend jeans, “Boyfriend jeans are my favorite type of jeans because they are super comfy and stylish.”

In subtle details, notice how Antonia chose to cuff her jeans. The cuff gives the outfit flair and also highlights her heels. Her decision in choosing heels, also dresses up the look. She states, ” I love pairing with heels to dress up my look!”

Casual: All White

post_cody1_071815_01post_cody1_071815_02post_cody1_071815_03post_cody1_071815_04post_cody1_071815_06Tshirt: Asos | Jeans: Levis |
Shoes: H&M | Accessories: Topshop

If you plan on attending any Labor Day parties this weekend, you shouldn’t purchase any full priced item now. Everything form here on out should be purchased on the sale rack. Think about it! Why spend $80 on an expensive white button-up last month, when you could pay $10 for the same shirt today.

If you don’t believe us, just ask our stylish buddy, Cody Dash from OPENDOORPOLICY.

Earlier this season, we had a chance to catch up with Cody wearing one of his all white looks in NYC.

With his longline, asymmetrically hemmed tee from ASOS, Cody knows hows to pull elements of high fashion into his daily wardrobe. More specifically, the shirt in general is very stylish, and you won’t catch too many people pulling it of this well.

Cody also had this to say when finding the shirt, “When I saw the shirt from Asos, I had to buy it. The shirt is very simple and easy.”

Also, we  think the distressed skinny jeans and sneakers add a nice little touch to the overall outfit. Cody agrees and had this to say about his outfit, “When I picked out this look, it was hot. So, I tried to think reasonably about comfort, but still wanted that “Wow” factor.”

Overall, we love how Cody was able to add some character to a casual look. It’s definitely an attention grabber, but in a very casual way.

How do you plan to dress for an all white party this weekend? Feel free to share with us in the comments section below.

Casual: Festival Attire

post_regina3_061615_01post_regina3_061615_02post_regina3_061615_03post_regina3_061615_04post_regina3_061615_05Denim Shirt: American Eagle |
Tank: Kooll Girl by KTRB |
Shorts: Ralph Lauren | Sneakers: Reebok |
Socks: H&M | Glasses: Michael Kors

If you are thinking about going to a large music festival like Made in America next week, this post is for you.

Fortunately, we had the chance to catch Regina wearing her latest festival friendly attire. Although we consider this look very stylish, Regina has a different opinion. She considers this her casual, “Go-to” kind of look. Furthermore, Regina had this to say about her outfit, “You usually will catch me with this type of style on my off days when I just kicking in the city doing my thing.”

Needless to say, her outfit consists of a denim shirt, graphic tank, multi-printed shorts, leopard print socks, and fire engine red Reebok sneakers.

In reference to her upper half, the denim shirt serves as a great layering piece for any tee or tank. It’s that versatile item that everyone should own in their closet.

Why? Well, think about it! If you start burning up, the denim shirt can always come off. Simply tie it around your waist, and you have a 90s grunge look.

Additionally, we can’t get enough of Regina’s multi-printed shorts. The flag and camo print were a perfect match. Plus, they look look great worn with her red Reeboks.

In short, we love Regina’s attire! It puts a modern twist on the usual festival appropriate attire.

Be srue to be on the look out for all the “Pre-Labor Day” posts next week.
