“This look, though simple, covers all of my essential fall needs.” -Alex

The art of layering is an important skill for anyone who plans on surviving the holiday season. It’s the perfect plan when you really don’t know how to dress for the weather.

For our friend Alex, layering is almost an everyday habit.

Take for instance his featured outfit, as shown above. Alex layered a multi-colored plaid button-up under a two toned sweatshirt and a Sherpa Cord jacket. The sweatshirt is very warm and stylish, and its simple two toned color scheme adds a level of versatility. It can be worn with almost any color.

According to Alex, “While brightening up what can end up being a pretty muted fall color palette of options, and the slim silhouette definitely sheds the frumpy idea of a traditional sweatshirt.”

In addition, the jacket itself is the perfect transitional outerwear for fall and winter.

Now, that we have discussed the first half of his outfit, let’s move on to Alex’s lower region. For this look, he decided to wear his distressed jeans with a pair of duck boots. Alex states, “My favorite part of this outfit is definitely the LL Bean duck boots. Literally completely waterproof, fall and early winter rains are not a problem. While the the insulate upper keeps my feet warm along with dry. Plus, due to a classic colorway, they make the perfect fall contrast for the washed denim I’m wearing, along with cords and chinos.”

Overall, another job well done Alex!

Black on black is the way to go this season, especially during the cooler months. Pairing together the right blouse, blazer, jeans, skirt, or coat, can elevate your entire look with little to no effort.

For this post, our girl Julia decided to show off her latest, all black look. This outfit consists of a quarter length, sheer blouse, rolled up skinny jeans, and heels, which were all purchased from different stores.

Continuing with this theme, the shirt and pants go perfectly together, giving Julia a very chic appearance.

To switch it up, she threw on her favorite, camel colored wide brim fedora. Like black, camel is very popular this season as well.

Overall, we love how Julia she pulled this look together. It’s very simple, yet sophisticated at the same time.

This week, Shanel stops by UnregisteredStyle to show off another fall look.

For those of you whom are interested in the latest fashion trends, the mini leather skirt is more popular than ever this season. Not only was this the must have item of the year, it’s also versatile. It can be worn with a combination of short and long sleeves.

Today, Shanel styled her leather skirt with a shear, lace crop top, stockings, and boots. The lace top is perfect if you planning on showing a little skin, even during the warmest day of December.

In addition, the stockings, boots, and leather skirt go perfectly together. You can’t go wrong with black, on black, on black! Plus, this pairing adds a very modern rock look to her appearance.

post_kris1_093015_01post_kris1_093015_02post_kris1_093015_03post_kris1_093015_04post_kris1_093015_05Sweater: Vintage Mexican inspired | Jeans: TopMan |
Boots: Mr. B’s by Aldo | Glasses: Rayban

As the first day of winter rapidly approaches, now is the time to start dusting off your favorite outwear pieces. Items like hoodies, jackets, and sweaters are perfect options if you’re looking to stay warm on a chilly day.

Today, Kris decided to show off Mexican inspired sweater, the baja hoodie for this week’s individual style feature. He also plans to school us on the wonders of thrift shopping.

While describing this look as one of his most “coziest throw on outfits”, Kris explained how he discovered the infamous baja hoodie through vintage shopping. He states, “I stumbled across the poncho-like hooded sweater and had to buy it since there’s nothing like it in stores. . . yet. Vintage clothing is a new passion of mine since you’re a walking piece of history; every article of clothing has its own story.”

We have to admit, the baja hoodie has become very popular this season. Wear with a hoodie and boots, and you have another great winter-esque look. Continuing with this idea, Kris paired his hoodie with distressed denim and his go-to Aldo boots.

So what do think about this look?
