Summer is officially coming to an end. With the first day of fall right around the corner, we still have a few more summer outfits to feature on the blog.
Our Philadelphia friend, Kourtney, decided to swing by New Jersey to show her “After 5” work attire. Last time, she was featured in more casual clothing.
Today, Kourtney decides to take her look to the next level with a preppy inspired outfit. Now, what does it mean to be preppy? For women, preppy is often associated with plaids, skirts, pearls, and button down shirts.
Below, Kourtney shows off her preppy inspired outfit by showcasing her yellow, pencil skirt. 
For any full figured woman, clothes that look good and fit comfortably are rare to find together. Since most female retail merchandise is catered to the petite body frame, Kourtney has difficulty finding clothes that accommodate her curves. How do we know? For starters, take a trip to the mall. If you go in any store, most mannequins are either a size zero, two, or four.
To further support this preppy theme, Kourtney is wearing a yellow pencil skirt that she feels comfortable wearing without feeling self conscious. She states,“As a more curvy women, it’s sometimes hard to find a good pencil skit that is long enough and fits right at the waist. My waist is smaller than my hips so it can be challenging.” 
“I like dress shirt and skit combo and it being paired with an animal print flat. The outfit gives out a very prep, professional sense, but I’m able to throw in a little of my sassy attitude with my accessories and leopard flats .” -Kourtney
Yes, we do love Kourtney’s preppy attire. The combination of the yellow pencil skirt and light blue shirt are very attractive on the eye. We can’t forget that I do have a personal bias since my favorite color is yellow.
Anyway, this outfit is simple yet elegant. Kourtney is able to add another layer of sophistication and class to this look with her leopard flats and accessories. 
With the entire outfit, Kourtney is ready for work. However, with the addition of accessories, she can transition into a happy hour or evening out wear.
