Let’s take it back to the 1970’s, a time when the Dukes of Hazards was televised across the nation. The main characters of the show consisted of Bo and Luke Duke. However, one of the most remembered and idolized characters of the show was Daisy Duke, played by Catherine Bach. Daisy is most recognized for her cut-off denim shorts, which were nicknamed “Daisy Dukes.” So, we can all commend the Dukes of Hazards for breaking out Daisy Dukes into mainstream fashion.
Today, we had the opportunity to shoot with our friend Nicia. The Long Island native was wearing her daisy dukes over the 4th of July weekend, as shown below.
After Daisy’s stint on the Dukes of Hazard, daisy dukes were typically customized from within the home. Women began to customize their shorts by cutting just below the crotch, without showing too much hips, thigh, and buttocks. These short rise jean shorts allow woman to showcase their legs and emphasize their natural curves.
” I love showing a little bit of skin tastefully by wearing my favorite crop tops. The who wears short shorts show all of my athletic toned legs. The bun is my favorite summer hair do and the shades add a sassy look to complete my outfit with my gold jewelry accessories.”
When wearing daisy dukes, women can wear various tops to complete the look. As shown above, Nicia is wearing a graphic crop top from 5,7,9. The heart jewelry was also purchased 5,7,9. The daisy duke shorts were purchased from H & M and the blue suede wedges were purchased from Steve Madden.
