AN EASY WAY TO WEAR A POLO SHIRT

ISAAC | PHILADELPHIA, PA

What he wore: A long-sleeve button-up polo shirt, tartan dress pants, and tassel loafers.

Style tip: If you haven’t been keeping up with the trends lately, you may not be aware that polo shirts are making a comeback. We’re not just talking about those classic preppy fits, but think 1970s with neutral color pallets and bold stripes. This fall, we’re wearing ours with a pair of jeans or dress pants. Take your pick!

STYLE SPOTLIGHT: LADY CELESTINA

“Welcome to “Style Spotlight,” a series dedicated to our most inspiring, fashion influencers.”

Introducing Lady Celestina, a glamorous drag performer from Asbury Park.

Who doesn’t love a little glitz, glamour, and a signature top hat?

Today, we’re delighted to introduce everyone to Lady Celestina, a New Jersey based drag artist! With an iconic look and a love for theater, Lady Celestina is known to put on a great show.

For this week’s #StyleSpotlight, we spent the afternoon with Lady Celestina to discuss everything fashion related. Here’s what she had to say below:

Where are you from?

Hi! I’m from Asbury Park, NJ.

How do you define your personal style? What or who are your some of your style inspirations?

My style is very costumey, campy, and fun. There’s a lot of fashion in there! I love big prints and bold colors (Life is just a little more interesting with colors). I love anything by the designer Guo Pei, she’s phenomenal. I steal a lot of her ideas.

What are the essential pieces you must have in your closet?

Petticoats, a good pair of heels, some great jewelry, and my top hat!

Where do you shop?

Every item in Lady Celestina’s closet is custom made (From various designers that I work with in Philly, New York, and New Jersey). Outside of that, I’m a terrible department store shopper. I’ll shop at JCPenney, Old Navy, and Primark.

Describe your personal style in three words?

Energetic, flowy, and fun!

Any fashion related tips?

Always take one thing off before you leave the house or go on stage. Also, create entire looks for yourself, and commit those to memory. I find it so much easier to dress myself when I know what goes together. For example, this shirt can go with these pants and shoes, with these specific accessories. It will make your life so much easier!

HOW TO WEAR ALL WHITE BEFORE FALL

JASMINE | PHILADELPHIA, PA

What she wore: A ribbed, all white two-piece and heels.

Style tip: We all know the rule: No white after Labor Day. but who is really following fashion “No-no’s” in 2021? We sure as hell are not? Today, Jasmine decided to step out in her all white two-piece before the first day of fall. We have to say, she looks stunning! The ribbed two piece compliment her style quite nicely. Plus, a pair of heels will always dress up any outfit.

STYLE SPOTLIGHT: RILWANE

“Welcome to “Style Spotlight,” a series dedicated to our most inspiring, fashion influencers.”

Introducing Rilwane, a London bred, Philly based athlete with style.

This weeks Style Spotlight is Rilwane, a new face to the #UnRegisteredStyle family. We happened to find him on IG, and immediately loved his look!

Today, we sat down with Rilwane to discuss his personal style preferences. Here’s what he had to say below:

Where are you from?

I’m from Stratford, East London.

How do you define your personal style? What or who are your some of your style inspirations?

Its basically a reflection of your personality or the mood that you’re in. Also, it has to be for the occasion that you’re going to.

My personal style is based on African or Caribbean culture. Some of the guys that influenced me with their fashion are D’banj, Eddie Murphy in Boomerang, and URBANE by Jason Richardson from New Jersey.

What are the essential pieces you must have in your closet?

You definitely need a blazer because you can switch up for every occasion (You can dress it up or down), and you need a pair of plain white shoes (Whether they’re Air Force 1s, ADIDAS Superstars, Vans, or Converse). If they’re really clean, you can have the slick look. If they’re really dirty, you can have that street or urban type of feel.

Where do you shop?

ASOS, URBANE by Jason Richardson and thrift stores (I like to remix clothes). For example, I would take the collar on a dress shirt, make an adjustment, and bring it inside so it looks like a circular collar.

Describe your personal style in three words?

My style is a reflection of this word I live by called “XIOU XIAN.” Its a word that embraces one’s feeling, style, and energy.

In addition, cultured, bold, and slick.

Any fashion related tips?

Don’t dress to fit what’s going on in society, dress base on how you feel. Just make sure it’s appropriate to wherever you’re going to.
