Sorry for the lack of #FEATUREFRIDAY posts this season. With the lack of submissions this month, we began hunting for other stylish individuals on the web.

One night while hashtag surfing on Instagram one night, we stumbled across another fashion blogger with a great sense of personal style. @JustMariklo, or Traci, is a twenty-seven year old, fashion blogger living in Phoenix, AZ.

This girl definately has an eye for fashion! The content of of her Instagram is very personal and stylish. From trendy looks to glamorous selfies, Traci’s account is filled with a variety of weekly looks, with direct content taken from her blog, www.justmariklo.com.

For example, the shown above was worn right before Thanksgiving. By throwing on the cream blazer and fur lapel with an assortment of burgundy accessories helped break up the outfit. In addition, we love the healed oxfords. Both preppy and chic, these oxfords can be worn to any function, especially to a holiday feast.

Congrats, Traci! We love your style and can’t wait to catch your next post.

After 5: Pleated Leather Skirt

Within the context of women’s fashion, some of the most popular trends are out of style by the time you wear them twice.

This season, there is one particular trend that has survived the testament of time. Since this trend covers a broad area, we label it as, “Leather.” So ladies, if you have yet invested in the leather phenomena, you are truly missing out. This year, leather made another strong comeback into mainstream fashion and has transformed itself into a variety styles, fits, and colors for the everyday buyer.

From moto jackets to skater skirts, leather has taken over almost every retail store. More specifically, faux leather has trademarked itself as the must have item this season. Traditional stores like H&M, Forever21, and Urban Outfitters have the latest faux leather deals and finds. Just take out your credit card, and get ready to swipe away.

If we still haven’t convinced you, check out this week’s individual style feature. Our good friend, Briana, demonstrates how to style a pleated, faux leather skirt below!

The great thing about a faux, leather skirts is that it can be worn with a variety of looks! Think about it! You can wear a pencil leather skirt with a solid color button-down, pair of stockings, and black pumps for a light office look.

Additionally, you can be more adventurous and wear the same pencil skirt with an over-sized sweatshirt, hat, and combat boots for a dynamic daytime look.

If you are wearing a pleated, faux leather skirt, like Briana, try an urban chic look. By combining her golden skirt with a graphic tee, over-sized sweater, knee high socks, and a pair of suede wedges, Briana can easily go from day to night.

She states, “I like this outfit because it’s fun, bold yet not flashy, and can go from day to night.”

In order to maintain structure within society, we must abide by a specific set rules at all times. If not followed, these rules can lead to severe consequences.

Within the world of fashion, there are a few rules set in place to help eliminate unflattering looks. Luckily for us, some of these rules are meant to be broken.  For those of us that love wearing brown and black together, you have broken one of the earliest rules of fashion. Needless to say, this rule should have been broken from the very beginning.

As shown above, I decided to put together a black and brown look for this week’s #MensStyleMondays post.

When pairing the two colors together, I always go with black pants and brown shoes. I wore my favorite black skinny jeans from River Island with my old pair of wingtip, oxford boots from Aston Grey. For the rest of my outfit, I went with a basic grey v-neck tee and a clunky cardigan, both from GAP. Just in case the temperature decided to drop, I tied an old denim shirt around my waist.

How would you pair black and brown together? Let us know in the comments section below.
