Anyone that knows me understands why I appreciate bold, striped pieces. For one, they can add character to any outfit. Think about all those times you wore a solid color outfit, and it looked completely boring. Add a few stripes, and you have transformed your entire look.

Today, I decided to wear one of my favorite striped shirts from ASOS. I picked up this top about two years ago for $7, and it’s been worn bi-weekly ever since. Why? Remember, I love bold stripes, and this shirt is the definition of BOLD. With contrasting striped colors, and cut-off sleeves, this shirt is perfect when paired with the right pair of pants.

For this look, I decided to wear my shirt with a pair of DIY distressed jeans, leather oxford loafers, and a wide brim fedora. From head to toe, this outfit is perfect for one of those later summer afternoons.

When I’m not slaving at work five days a week, I love to spend time with my closest friends.

This weekend, I had to chance to catch up with my designer friend, Seonne B. Last time we checked up with @msbowtieqing, she was caught stepping out in her 2014 summer apparel.

Today, Seonne and I  decided to dress up for a “Dapper” day in the city. From custom bowties, to leather saddle shoes, we wanted to pay homeage to the late 50s and early 60s.

Seonne, with her tomboy inspired style, decided to wear a solid color oxford button-up, khaki shorts, and leather tassel loafers. Continuing with the “Dapper” theme, I went with a striped button-down, skinny khakis, and leather saddle shoes.

I think our outfits compliment each other very well, don’t you think? Feel free to share your opinions below in our comment section.

Sandals: Target

Are those sandals Bryce?

Yes, I’m wearing sandals! Now, I’m not a flip flops type of guy, but I do love a good pair of “Jerusalem Cruisers.”

Why? Well for one, they’re comfortable. I can wear these sandals everywhere, except in the rain of course. Two, they look good with almost every outfit, unless you are attending a weekend. If you don’t believe me, just check out today’s outfit. I paired my sandals with a basic tee to shorts. Three, these sandals are very affordable, especially if you know where to shop. Matter of fact, I picked up these sandals from Target for only $10. You have to love a good clearance rack. Maybe tomorrow, I can wear these bad boys with my favorite distressed jeans.

The short sleeve button-up short has been back on the scene for two summers now. Why? I guess it’s because they are a little more weather resistant, unlike their long sleeve counterpart.

Whatever the case may be, I’m actually a huge fan. Maybe it’s because I’m a self proclaimed nerd, and every brain child has at least three hanging in their closet. No seriously, I just like them. They look great with dress pants, shorts, and of course, denim jeans.

For this week’s post, I wore a short sleeve button-up with a pair of distressed, skinny jeans and leather oxford shoes. The short sleeve button-up was purchased from ASOS sometime last year for $20. I actually like the shirt because it literally looks and feels like a long sleeve dress short. It’s lightweight material is great for those humid summer afternoons.

The jeans were actually purchased from ASOS as well. Being the creative, I grabbed a pair of scissor and distressed these pants myself. Looks good, right?
