STYLE SPOTLIGHT: SIERRA

“Welcome to “Style Spotlight,” a series dedicated to our most inspiring, fashion influencers.”

Meet Sierra, a digital marketing and brand strategist from Philadelphia.

For our final style spotlight of 2020, we’re pleased to introduce our new friend, Sierra (aka @sierracartergordon)! Born and raised in Philadelphia, Sierra knows a thing or two about fashion and personal style. We sat down with her to talk everything from statement pieces to reality-tv and everything in between. Check out what she has to say below:

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Germantown specifically).

How do you define your personal style? What or who are your some of your style inspirations?

My personal style in general, is kind of lazy. I like to pay attention to the “cool” trends that are going on. I feel like my staples are probably a crop top like I currently have on (Something easy and simple on the bottom). For style inspo, it definitely helps when one of your best friends is a stylist. She gives me a lot of tips, and styles a lot of my outfits.

What are the essential pieces you must have in your closet?

Definitely this jacket that I have on right now. When I got it, I decided f*ck it, I’m going to splurge (I feel like I never splurge on pieces like this). Honestly, it’s such an easy throw on, and it’s a statement in itself. So, I really don’t have to do too much.

Also, I love good details. You can always catch me with a few gold necklaces on. Right now for winter, I would say these combat boots. They’re definitely a huge staple.

Where do you shop?

Sadly, a boutique that I help run around the corner at 2nd and Market has closed. So, for years, a lot of my wardrobe has come from there. Other than that, I would say random brands that I find on Instagram, local shops, ASOS, and Zara!

Describe your personal style in three words?

Sleek/tailored, muted, and confident!

Any fashion related tips?

Be confident. Sometimes, I’ll put something on, and not really sure if I can pull this off. This jacket, for instance, I told myself for two weeks that I couldn’t pull it off. Today, threw it on, looked in the mirror, and told myself, “No, I look good!” So, be confident in what you put on, and it doesn’t matter what other people think.
