For our latest Style Spotlight interview, we were delighted to chat with Philadelphia native, Ramón Luis. From New York Fashion Week to Net-a-Porter, Ramón has worked on many campaigns and projects.

Below, Ramón answers some quick questions about his personal style preferences:

Where are you from?

Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA.

How do you define your personal style? What or who are your some of your style inspirations?

After thinking about it, I truly can’t define my style (It’s forever evolving). However, I’m inspired by so many things (From decades of Hollywood movies to music, classic art, and geographical cultures). If anyone inspired me for my love of fashion, I would have to give that to my Grandmother. She always showed me how fashion can be, and how to embrace it.

What are the essential pieces you must have in your closet?

A leather jacket because you can’t go wrong with one. They will always boost up any outfit! Also, I have to have a nice tailored suit because they’re timeless. In terms of jewelry, silver is my go-to for everything. A piece of silver can make anything sparkle.

Where do you shop?

I’m a huge vintage lover. Here in Philly, I always check out Racks Vintage on South Street. Whenever I travel, I’m always scooping out the most offbeat vintage shops. For instance, one of my favorite places in LA is Wasteland. I’m always finding something there. New York has Hamlets Vintage. Plus, I’m a huge online shopper on websites like ASOS and Etsy.

Describe your personal style in three words?

Bold, eclectic, and forward thinking.

Any fashion related tips?

Keep confidence in whatever you have on. Confidence is the main thing you want to wear. I don’t care how much the outfit costs or where you get it from. Just have confidence in what you wear. Fashion is meant to be fun, you know? Switch up your hair, try a fabric that you’ve never tried before, and wear something to put you out your comfort zone. Embrace it and have fun!
