Today, our latest Style Spotlight is on another based fashionista, Keta Shanell. Outside of shopping and thrifting, she spends many hours maintaining her business. More specifically, Mauve Boutique, an online store where women can build their confidence, one outfit at a time!

Where are you from?

Hey guys! This is Keta, and I’m from South Philly!

How do you define your personal style? What or who are your some of your style inspirations?

We didn’t have a lot of money growing up. So, we thrifted. As a result, I played around with a lot of stuff until I figured out what made me happy when we walked out the door.

My style inspos are more like stylists. They may not be your favorite celebrities per say, but they’re your favorite celebrity’s stylist. Think Zerina Akers or June Ambrose!

What are the essential pieces you must have in your closet?

Every fashionista should have a leather biker jacket (Mine is from ZARA). You should always just have a good pair of jeans that makes your body look good. Also, I would say a really nice white V-neck.

Where do you shop?

I shop at ZARA, a lot of thrift stores, and Mauve Boutique (Which is my brand).

Describe your personal style in three words?

Bold, captivating, and creative!

Any fashion related tips?

Feel comfortable in what you’re wearing. Don’t worry about the trends. If you feel good about it, that’s all that really matters.
