Meet Darranie, a recording artist and performer from Central Jersey.

We would like everyone to give a warm welcome to Darranie, a wonderful singer, dancer, and actress. Known for her wider vocal range, great dance moves, and purple aesthetic, Darranie manages to express her artistry through fashion. Today, we sat down to discuss everything from music to her personal style. Here’s what she had to say below:

Where are you from?

I’m originally from Trenton, but I currently reside in Mount Holly, NJ.

How do you define your personal style? What or who are your some of your style inspirations?

I define my personal style as very eclectic. I’m very into my Gossip Girl, Sex and the City, and some old school styles like a Different World.

I’m very inspired by the color purple. So, anytime I can sprinkle it in (regardless of what it looks like), I’m wearing it!

What are the essential pieces you must have in your closet?

Anything purple of course! Plus, I love my little handbags and sneakers. You have to have a lot of sneakers!

Where do you shop?

I shop on Amazon, the Red White & Blue Thrift Store in Hamilton, Fashion Nova, SHEIN, and Columbus Market.

Describe your personal style in three words?

Sexy, fun, and theatrical!

Any fashion related tips?

I just go for what I love, and whatever makes me feel comfortable. I always encourage everyone to ignore what others have to say about their style. Go for makes you feel happy. Also, bargain shop! You can get a lot of things that look expensive, when they’re actually $2. I just inspire everyone to be who they are, and show it through their clothes.
