A foundation of friendship: Kashief + Stormy

Introducing our next engaged couple, Kashief and Stormy. They first met in passing, and began their relationship as friends. After reconnecting four years later, their bond evolved into a lifelong commitment. Find out how it all went down below:

Where and how did you two meet?

Kashief: We first met at West Chester University!

Stormy: Yes, we met in passing at West Chest University. Four years later, we reconnected, and started hanging out more. We became really good friends after that.

When did you two realize you loved each other?

Stormy: I realized it first. Kashief is very funny, playful, genuine, and caring. In the midst of hanging out as just friends, I knew! Before we were even official, I knew I loved him.

Kashief: We loved each other as friends first, and then it got intimate.

Kashief, at what point did you realize you wanted to marry Stormy?

Kashief: I knew within a year I wanted to marry her.

Stormy, what made you accept the proposal?

Stormy: I hate to say the same answer, but definitely the first year. I knew I loved him, and that was nice for a while. Then, I realized that this was the man I wanted to raise a family with. Whenever he was ready to ask for my hand in marriage, I was ready.

How has your relationship grown through the pandemic?

Kashief: We held up pretty well together, and were able to accomplish a lot more. Our surroundings were crunching down, and we were able to go after what we wanted. There was a lot more future planning.

Stormy: We communicate well already, but we were able to have more sit downs and talks during the pandemic. Since we were stuck in the house together, we focused more on our relationship and goals. To piggy back off of Kashief, we planned a lot more, in contrast to our lives before the pandemic.

For anyone struggling in the dating world, what advice would you give them in regards to sustaining a healthy and loving relationship?

Kashief: To be yourself, and respect your partners point of view.

Stormy: I would say honest communication, and it doesn’t help to be something you’re not just to please another person. Just be up front from the beginning so there won’t be any surprises later.

Where can we reach you?
