THE LOVE EXPERIENCE: JORDAN + KOURTNEY

“The Love Experience” is an editorial project that features dynamic couples in love. The series, shot by fashion photographer, Bryce Lennon, aims to highlight diversity within the world of fashion.”

It’s hard to believe that the first cycle of “The Love Experience” is coming to a close. So far, we’ve featured a total of eight couples, and we have two more to get through before the week is out. So, without wasting time, let’s give it up  for our newlyweds, Jordan and Kourtney!

Their love story began back in the summer of 2011. Jordan who was living locally at the time, met Kourtney at a fourth of July cookout hosted by the creator of UnregisteredStyle, Bryce Lennon. “Jordan has known Bryce Lennon since high school, and heard he was hosting one of his epic parties. I was new to the Philly area, and met Bryce through my college roommate and friend. The cookout was the kickoff to my first summer in the city,” Kourtney says.

What a great way to bring in summer. New job, new friends, and a new love interest! Like Kourtney, Jordan came to the cookout for a good time. He left with so much more than that. “I arrived to the party before Kourtney, and noticed her when she arrived. She immediately caught my eye,” Jordan says.

After their first encounter at the cookout, Jordan and Kourtney remained in contact for the next few months. Their attraction for one another became undeniable. On December 16, 2011, Jordan and Kourtney became boyfriend and girlfriend. Seven years later, Jordan proposed, and they walked down the isle on September 1, 2019.

Before saying their vows, Jordan and Kourtney established a deeper connection through premarital counseling. Kourtney adds, “Once marriage was on the table, we did premarital counseling with our Pastor. He asked, “If the person you’re with never changed, would still marry them?” The reason being is that you can’t expect marriage to change someone, and there’s a possibility that could happen. Of course, there is expected growth to occur. However, if it didn’t happen, would you still marry them.”

Great advice! As a couple, Jordan and Kourtney also recommend premarital counseling for any couple considering marriage! “It helps couples critically think about their life post wedding day,” Jordan mentions.

Thank you for sharing your love story with us Jordan and Kourtney! We hope to hear from you two again in the future. Best of luck! Thanks for reading!
