“The Love Experience” is an editorial project that features dynamic couples in love. The series, shot by fashion photographer, Bryce Lennon, aims to highlight diversity within the world of fashion.
Ladies and gentleman, allow us to introduce you to Donte and Jasmine, the first couple featured in the Love Experience. Currently residing in Philadelphia, this power couple began their love story with a little humor. According to Jasmine, “We met last year in Philly at Stratus Lounge at a “Let’s Toast” event hosted by @gettin_critiqal and @poweredbyonegroup. I was enjoying my time with some girlfriends, and towards the end of the night, I spotted Donte wearing all black, standing in the middle of the event. I thought his all black fit was funny, so I made a joke asking him why he looked like security. As I walked away, he grabbed my arm saying “Hold up!” When I turned around, I saw him smiling and looking at me with a gleam in his eye. Sparks flew! We talked and found out we were headed to the same kickback. At the kickback, we ended up chatting for hours and have been growing our relationship ever since.”
Imagine if Jasmine never made her joke? What if Donte never continued the conversation? Would these two love birds have ever met? Yes! We are sure Jasmine would have said something at the kickback regardless. Fate always brings people together. Jokes aside, Donte has this to say about finding his leading lady, “Wear all black so she’ll think you’re security, and love will find you. Just kidding! Honestly, we laugh so often with each other, and have no problem being our authentic selves. Neither of us was looking for love! Love arrives when it’s meant to arrive, and you will know it. So just enjoy life in its moments, and be open to the possibilities to come!”
