It’s the first official day of “Summer Sixteen,” and I’m more than excited to show off my latest threads.

So, in honor of my favorite season, I decided to put these summer clothes to some good use. I paired this old tribal print tank from H&M with a pair of DIY distressed denim shorts. This tank consists of a multi-colored, triabl print that serves as both a layering item and shirt.

For a finishing touch, I styled my retro Chuck Taylors with a pair of mid-calf, tube socks. The exposed sock look is going to be a very popular trend this season, especially for all your festival junkies. So, make sure you stop by Wal-Mart and Target to rack up before the season’s out.

After doing some spring cleaning, I stumbled across this old flannel button-up hanging in my closet.

So, here’s a little fun fact about this shirt. This button-up was purchased way back in my college days, and only been worn three times. I guess you can say it’s been hidden all this time.

As far as styling, this shirt really pops with with darker colors. So, in this particular case, I styled it with a pair of DIY distressed jeans and a leather moto jacket.

For a finishing touch, I threw on my snake-skin slip-on shoes from ASOS.

With this look, I was going for a modernized, 90s take on the classic boy next door persona. The waist coat and t-shirt pairing is a good example of this concept. It wouldn’t be the 90s without some type of printed vest over a solid or graphic tee.

As shown above, my waistcoat is less print and more of a solid color, which still gets the job done. I further styled my vest with a black tee, skinny jeans, and a wide brim fedora.

For a little contrast, I went with my double monk strap leather shoe and belt.
