How Did I Wear…

How did I wear…a floral print blazer?

In celebration of this beautiful day, I spent the entire afternoon sketching up a storm. Traditionally, most of my illustrations are usually high fashion or super hero related. However, I do have a soft spot for the plant species. More specifically, leaves, flowers, and trees. Weird, I know.

Tip: Although this may not be a fashion tip, but finding leisure activities like sketching, painting, jogging, or running, are great for relaxation. These are normally my “go-to” problem solvers when getting over writers block.

With all that being said, I ventured outside today in a lightweight, floral jersey blazer.

Floral print blazer?!

How ironic, right? Not exactly!

Tip: Fellas, don’t be scared of floral prints. They are for everyone. You can add a masculine touch by wearing a solid color tank or tee underneath. When in doubt, go with black.

Although I haven’t worn this blazer since it’s initial purchase last spring, it’s sharp enough to wear in 2016 as well.

For this particular look, I went with an 80s theme. By styling the blazer with a nude v-neck tee and light wash denim jeans, I was able to channel my inner Mike from Growing Pains. For all you 90s babies, look him up.

Tip: If your blazer is too big, simply roll up the sleeves and strut your stuff in confidence. Baggy is back, and you should embrace every bit of the retro age.

In continuing with this theme, I went with a pair of slip on sneakers in khaki from ASOS. The color alone is very “landscape” friendly.

Street Style: Denim Overalls

post_malcolm1_042416_01post_malcolm1_042416_02post_malcolm1_042416_03post_malcolm1_042416_04post_malcolm1_042416_05Denim Overalls: Forever 21 |
Denim Jacket: Levis |
Tee: Forever 21 |
Boots: Timbaland

If you haven’t noticed, the denim overall look is trendy yet again this season. Most of your favorite stores have them in stock, especially in the men’s section.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that denim overalls are very affordable around this time of the year. You can find a nice pair for $35. If that doesn’t get you hype, I’m not sure what will.

Today, our friend Malcolm decided to show off his denim overalls from Forever21. Styled with a solid black tee and jacket, Malcolm put this street style inspired look together quite well. He is definitely channeling his inner 90s persona.

Continuing with this theme, Malcolm further styled his overalls with a pair of classic Timberland boots. Just in case you forgot, these too are back in season.

Shorts: ASOS | Fedora: Urban Outfitters

I don’t know about you, but I love taking on a rain shower in my favorite boots. More specifically, a fresh pair of leather desert boots always does the trick.

Take, for instance, the featured outfit shown above. This past week, I had a chance to get my bottoms wet in these newly purchased boots from DSW. Not only are these boots comfy, they are pretty water resistant as well. You can’t beat that, right?

Now, let’s go on to the actual outfit. I styled my boots with a fine-knit cotton sweater from H&M and cut-off shorts from ASOS.

Similar to the shorts, the sweater has a cut-off area near the neckline, which adds a nice touch.
