Strictly Business: The Navy Suit

“Fashion trends are constantly changing but despite this there remain some key pieces that form the essential building blocks for a wardrobe.” -Shave Magazine

As mentioned in the statement above, every stylish man should own at least ten essential items in his closet. From cashmere sweaters, to Chuck Taylor sneakers, investing in a few essential pieces will save you a lot of time and effort, especially if you are a very fashion forward individual like Kashief Butler.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Kashief knows a thing or two about styling in the streets and how to assemble items for his essential wardrobe. He states, “It’s all about your attitude and how you wear your clothes with confidence. I know I’m not the most dapper guy out there, but I know how to match certain pieces together to complete my outfits.”

Now that’s a great way at looking at things Kashief! Sometimes, a little less can be a better option, especially if you have your essential wardrobe already set in place.

Below, Mr. Butler shows us how he wears a navy suit from his essential wardrobe collection to another networking event in the city.

Now, if you are unsure of which style or fit is best for you, try to invest in a navy suit. Worn to any feng shui event, the navy suit is one of the top five essential items to include in your wardrobe.

One of the major advantages of owning a navy suit is that it can be worn with any color or pattern combination. Think about all the black and brown leather shoes, solid and patterned printed ties, and natural colored button-downs that you can wear with a navy suit. The possibilities are endless.

For this particular look, Mr. Butler went with a more traditional approach by styling his navy suit with a crisp white button-down. Like the navy suit, a slim fitted white button-down can be added to the essential wardrobe must-have list.

Kashief decided to take his look to the next level by throwing on his favorite navy suspenders with a polka dot bowtie and a pair of wingtip oxfords. He states, “I chose the polka dot tie because I didn’t want to wear a simple colored tie. Plus, it gave the navy and white some flavor.”
