After 5: The Sport Coat

For anyone that runs a blog or website, you understand the responsibility that comes with sustaining a loyal following. First of all, you want to keep your readers happy. If that means posting three to four times a week, give them what they want! Your success is owned by their support.

So, what does this mean for UnregisteredStyle?

Well, we are obligated to answering questions and providing quality feedback to our readers. For example, we’ve received some suggestions from a couple of our readers about our models. To make a long story short, you wanted us to feature more representatives from the “25 and up” club. So, we took this task very seriously and set out to find a more mature, stylish individuals.

Luckily, we made a new friend recently and he goes by the name Corey.

We had the opportunity to be introduced to Corey during a photo shoot in Philadelphia. Instantly, we liked his style and he agreed to be featured! Here Corey shows off his favorite patterned blazer. Scroll down for the full feature below!

“The sport coat is one of the most common jackets that can be bought. They are mistaken for blazers due to stores wrongly naming the item. The sport coat is bought alone, they are usually heavier fabrics such as tweed, cord, or just cotton chino and patterns can range from solid to madras. Its the less formal jacket out of all three, more rugged and more sturdier.” –MMD Style

Like blazers, sport coats are ideal for a man who wants a little versatility in his life.

“Versatility?!” Yes, Versatility! Since they are available in both modern and class styles,  sport coats can be worn with a combination of sweaters, button-downs, waistcoats, jeans, or chinos. You can practically wear a sport coat with anything. Think about it, the same sport coat can be worn to brunch and later in the evening if you decide to meet  up with friends for a few drinks. The possibilities are endless!

A sport coat can be dressed up or down depending on the type of jacket you purchase. In Corey’s case, he is wearing a plaid, patterned sport coat from JC Penny. Now, JC Penny offers a variety of blazers, sport coats, and suit jackets if you ever run out of ideas. It offers a great selection if you are looking for something inexpensive, fitted, and quick.

In addition, Corey decided to pair his sport coat with a v-neck sweater, button-down, neck tie, chinos, and saddle shoes.

We at the UnregisteredStyle love Corey’s saddle shoes. We actually have a very soft spot for them. Worn by the likes of many, saddle shoes have resurfaced throughout history and continue to add a timeless stamp to men’s fashion.
