How did I wear…cut-off shorts?

Since it feels like Hell’s Kitchen outside (literally), who has time to wear pants everyday? I don’t!

If you’re a man with a lot of leg hair like myself, jeans are your last line of defense. Doesn’t it feel really disgusting when your body hair gets stuck to your pants leg? If you have any creative skills, you might as well cut them up and make a cool pair of shorts.

Cut them up, why can’t we just buy them? Most retail stores rack their prices up around this time of the year. Who wants to waste money on something you can create yourself for free.

Tip: When cutting up your jeans, make sure you mark the knee caps. Then, you want to cut evenly across with a sharp pair of scissors. Make sure you grab some sand paper to smooth out those edges. Wash and dry the jeans at least once or twice before you wear them out the house.

Okay, so back on topic. Lately, I’ve been in a very hippie, western mood. So, I threw on a racer back tank with my favorite oxford boots.

Tip: If you want to try wearing boots and shorts, less is always best. When in doubt, just throw on a thin t-shirt or tank with your shorts, and you’re good to go.

Overall, I just love little DIY projects. They just bring something different to the table visually.

Hopefully you can stay cool this week. If not, just cut up a pair of shorts and wear them out. I’m sure you will wrack up a lot of compliments!

How did I wear…European cut swim trunks?

Easy, with nothing at all! Okay, seriously. As we already know, most guys are afraid to step about with any shorts above the knee, especially swim trunks. There’s always a negative connotation associated with any revealed body part.

In order to wear these trunks, you have to be very comfortable with your masculinity. Honestly, it took me a while to get to this point, but I have no problem wearing these trunks around in public.

Tip: Since more than half of your thigh will be exposed, try wearing a t-shirt, button-up, sweatshirt, or sweater over your swim trunks.

For my top, I went with an old grey cardigan from Forever21. This bad boy was purchased on sale during the winter for $10. yes, $10!

Although it may seem a little clunky, the cardigan is thin enough to wear over bare skin. Even if you get a little hot, you can always take it off.

Tip: Unless you are collecting sand at the beach, stay away from flip flops. As an alternative, you should try an open toed sandle or . Before you step out, make sure you have those toes together though.

Rather than walking bare foot, I decided to throw on my Rock & Religion Adolfo Espadrilles from ASOS. These shoes are great for long walks and inclement weather. Plus, they make your calves look great!

If you can’t find a decent pair of trunks on ASOS, head over to H&M. They have a great selection as well.

Hopefully, I was able to help break you out of your shell a bit.

How did I wear…denim overalls?

Okay, so our favorite 90s staple is back this season, overalls!

Sad to say though, I haven’t owned a pair since third grade. Yes, third grade! Even now, I never expected to jump band wagon on this trend. Needless to say, a lot of people have been pulling off this retro look, so I decided to give them a try as well.

Tip: Since denim is denim, you can do a lot with overalls. Depending on your personal style, you can rock your overalls with both straps up, one down, or keep them hanging by your thighs. It’s really up to you. Personally, I usually keep one strap up for support. Give it a try though!

A simple fella like myself paired my overalls with a basic white v-neck tee, wide brim fedora, and white sneakers. Okay, you can call me Farmer Joe if you like, but this is simplicity at it’s finest.

Tip: Most people try to pair their overalls with detailed graphic shirts, while I just like solid colors. Either option is perfect, depending on your preferences. If you are really edgy, try a sweatshirt or tank.

I actually recently wore this outfit to my spring homecoming, and I received a lot of compliments. So, don’t be afraid to try something different. Once people see that you can pull off a particular look, they may take a stab at it as well.

So, what do you think? Would you ever try wearing overalls again? Tell us about your experiences in the comments section below.

How did I wear…a deep crew neck tee?

For all those bench press monsters like myself, you may want to invest in a series of deep scoops neck t-shirts from ASOS to show off your nice chest. Created in a variety of colors and fits, these deep scoop necks t-shirts are great during those 85° days during the spring and summer.

So, I purchased my first scoop neck t-shirt, now what do I wear with it?

Tip: Since you are rocking a deep scoop neck shirt, you have endless possibilities. For a simple look, try a nice pair of fitted jeans. If you are headed to the beach, try a pair of European cut swim shorts. You can also layer your shirt with a plaid or denim button-up. As long as the chest is showing, that’s all that matters.

For myself, I paired my white deep scoop neck shirt with my favorite black skinny jeans and chelsea boots. When I threw this t-shirt on, it was giving me a “Happy Days” vibe. I was channeling my inner Fonzie, minus the leather jacket.

Tip: If you decide to step out in the deep scoop neck, you have to have a lot of self confidence. People will stop and stare, but take it as a compliment. They all know you look good, but just make sure you know too. Don’t let your insecurities stop you from being great!

The scoop neck can be a little bare by itself. So, accessorize your shirt with some jewelry. I purchased these two necklaces separately from H&M, and they look great with this outfit.

What do you think? How would you rock a deep scoop neck tee? Give us some feedback in the comment’s section below.
