If you haven’t noticed, monochromatic colors are very much in style this season.

So, you speak of these monochromatic colors, but what the heck does that even mean? As mentioned in a previous post, monochromatic colors fall within the same hue, tint, or shade. Just imagine a solid a top and shorts set, all from the same color family. Sounds cute, right?

Well, if you don’t believe us, check out this week’s featured outfit.

Today, Dyandra Raye is giving us life in her red suit. Worn casually or dressed up with a pair of heels, this suit is ideal for spring.

According to Dyandra Raye, “The length of this blazer is great for multiple wears. You can wear it open for a more casual look or button up for a dressier occasion. I layered a white tank underneath to create a Spring appropriate look. A black layering piece will work perfectly for a night look!”

Overall, we love this loos! With such a vibrant color scheme, Dyandra looks straight out of a magazine.

Now that festival season is finally underway, it’s time to get serious about what to wear.

Personally, I love dressing for music festivals.

Why? Since everyone will most likely be intoxicated, high, or carefree, you are in a fashion safe zone. This is the perfect time to experiment with your funky style.

With this in mind, I put together this festival inspired look. From head to toe, this outfit screams low maintenance. The oversized, button-up is a great choice, especially since tribal prints are in-style this season.  Tucked in a pair of distressed jeans, this shirt is mosh pit ready.

Let’s not forget about the suede desert boots! Not only are they trendy, these boots are very weather appropriate.

Shirt: ZARA | Loafers: J. Crew

Since spring colors can never demasculinize your appearance, many men should invest in a pair of bright or pastel chinos for the season. If you don’t believe us, just ask our boy Alex. For this #flexfriday post, Alex decides to show off his brightly colored pants.  He styled the chinos with a light weight cardigan, printed button-up, and a pair of suede loafers. Looking good, right?

How Did I Wear…

How did I wear…an African dashiki?

I’ve been searching long and hard for a pull-over, African dashiki.

What is a dashiki? Most search engines define African dashiki’s as a colorful garment that are typically worn by West African men. This shirt covers the top half of the body.

Tip: Depending on your personal style, dashiki’s can be purchased in almost every color.

Fortunately, my sister found this one at a random vendor in North Carolina while visiting my parents.

Tip: Since this dashiki was found randomly, it’s safe to assume that these shirts can be found in almost every city. Just check out your local mall or flea market for a vendor.

Needless to say, I think the African dashiki is the perfect spring/summer staple. Worn with the right pair of shorts or jeans, this shirt can be dressed up with little to no effort. For myself, I styled my dashiki with my newly distressed cut-off denim shorts. Additionally, I threw on my white canvas sneakers from Urban Outfitters.

Tip: No need to wear too many layers with your dashiki. It’s meant to keep you cool during the hotter months.
