Traveling light is a lot easier than it sounds, especially if you are away for more than two days.

To reduce the number of bags during my weekend getaways, I typically travel in layers.

Why? When wearing an extra shirt or two, you can add more storage to an already, stuffed bag.

For this week’s #mensstylemondays post, I decided to show off a very travel friendly inspired look.

This outfit consists of a fitted sweatshirt, distressed denim jeans, and chelsea boots. With the longline tee layered under the sweatshirt, this outfit screams Yeezy. I could definitely see Kanye wearing this look in the airport, especially with the match bag and chelsea boots.

Street style inspired clothing is everywhere this season! From runways to educational settings, this fashion trend is never going out of style.

Most of these street style inspired looks can transition from urban to preppy, to chic, to androgynous. Thus, creating your own look.

For instance, take our blogger friend, Tomarra, for example. As shown above, she paired an over-sized, vintage army jacket, with rolled up black jeans, and a grey tank. By adding a multicolored knotted head scarf and over-sized hoop earrings, Tomarra is giving us an “Around the Way Girl” look, with a little vintage chic. This look is a melting pot of different styles. Great job Tomarra!

How Did I Wear…

post_bryce2_042916_08post_bryce2_042916_04post_bryce2_042916_03post_bryce2_042916_02post_bryce2_042916_05Kimono: ASOS | Shirt: ONLY WITH KINGS |
Shorts: GAP | Shoes: Converse

How did I wear…a printed kimono?

After a series of failed attempts, I finally figured out how to style this printed Kimono the right way.

Tip: Styling a kimono is a lot easier than it sounds. Depending on the material, you should consider wear light weight garments underneath.

My original plan was to do the whole double denim thing again. Obviously, that didn’t go as planned. It was a little too warm outside. So, I had to readjust.

Tip: Since the kimono is the perfect spring accessory, try to wear it over a neutral colored tank or tee.

Next, I attempted to wear a brightly colored tank, with skinny jeans. Although that look sounded like a great idea, it wasn’t good enough.

Tip: ASOS has a variety of kimonos available for men. They run anywhere between $20-$40, which isn’t bad considering they are pretty hard to find.

Right before giving up, I decided to go with an all black look at the last minute. The graphic tee and denim shorts bring more to the table than my other failed looks.

Strictly Business: The Navy Suit

post_dangelo1_040516_01post_dangelo1_040516_02post_dangelo1_040516_03post_dangelo1_040516_04post_dangelo1_040516_05Suit: H&M | Shirt: Hugo Bass |
Tie: Next UK | Shoes: Giorgio Brutini

In terms of fashion and personal style, it’s important to invest in versatile pieces that you can wear year round. Take, for instance, the navy suit. Considered a uniform for the every day American male, the navy suit holds the key to the essential wardrobe.

Today, our friend D’Angelo shows  us how to style a navy suit the right way. He paired a navy suit jacket with matching slim fit pants, and white button-up. To finish off his look, he chose brown, double strap, monk shoes.

Remember, when choosing shoes for navy looks, lighter colored shoes are usually your best option. To add that extra pop, he chose a light colored yellow tie(spring time feels) and flowered lapel.
